Happy Diving // Topshelf Records
We are completely elated to announce that we are working with Happy Diving to release a new 7" titled So Bunted on July 17! For the uninitiated, the band has members in Seattle and the Bay Area and invokes comparisons to bands like Dinosaur Jr or peers like California X, Ovlov and Milk Music. I gushed about their debut full length album Big World last year to anyone that would listen (released by the absurdly wonderful Father/Daughter Records) as it's an album that completely took me by surprise and became my defacto life-soundtrack. The band's new two-song 7” was recorded in just four hours at The Atomic Garden in East Palo Alto, CA, with the help of producer Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Joyce Manor, Whirr) and sees the band channeling their frenzied energy and deafening and vivacious live shows into two magnificently sludgy pop songs. The track listing, cover art and pre-order notification sign up are all up now!
In addition to the new material, the band will also be touring with friends Never Young on the following July west coast dates:
- 7/15 - Oakland, CA @ One Fam
- 7/17 - Portland, OR @ TBA
- 7/18 - Olympia, WA @ TBA
- 7/19 - Seattle, WA @ Office Space
- 7/20 - Vancouver, BC @ TBA
- 7/21 - Victoria, BC @ Mirancave
- 7/23 - Santa Rosa, CA @ Atlas Coffee
- 7/24 - San Francisco, CA @ TBA
- 7/25 - Santa Cruz, CA @ Crepe Place
- 7/26 - Los Angeles, CA @ The Echo
- 7/27 - Corona, CA @ Sinbad's
You can keep up with Happy Diving on Facebook, Twitter and give them a listen on Bandcamp.
Thanks!!
