Today we're dropping the next title in the 10-LP bundle: The Jazz June's The Medicine.

Released in the year 2000, The Jazz June’s third album The Medicine is widely regarded to be among the most influential emo albums of all time. Equal parts raw, melodic, and heavy, The Medicine was written and recorded at a time when emo and post-hardcore were still taking shape in the buzzing, nebulous realms of underground and indie rock. Alongside forebears like Mock Orange and Built to Spill, The Jazz June prized dynamic songwriting unconcerned with traditional structure and tropes. Instead, they emphasized stretched-out songs with hairpin turns, dueling guitars, and frenetic energy, all connected by an experimental, take-a-chance spirit, resulting in a genre-defining album that boasts the full range of turn-of-the-century emo and post-hardcore.
