Queen of Jeans // "Only Obvious to You"

The latest single from Queen of Jeans, "Only Obvious to You," is out today on all streaming platforms. Taken from the band's upcoming album If you're not afraid, I'm not afraid, the new single blends Queen of Jeans’ signature softness with a rousing awakening of spirit. “This is a song about recognizing your value, and acknowledging when you’ve let someone take away your voice and dictate your worth,” explains Devora.

Listen to "Only Obvious to You" today on your preferred platform, or scope the music video below (heck, do both if you've got the time!)

The video was directed by Miri Devora, shot on an iPhone by guitarist Mattie Glass, edited by longtime collaborator Bob Sweeney, and filmed at Philadelphia Pride earlier this summer.

Mattie explains: “With the video, we wanted to showcase the LGBTQIAP+ community because that's our experience of love. It's not to say that our community experiences more or less of the pain of love - it's just that we experience the same amount as everyone else. A lot of times with the visibility in the media, you see these flowery commercials by corporations touting "love is love" and it's always a very one dimensional positive message. Like, “oh look at these cute happy gays - they’re just like us, laughing and eating cereal with their kids!” But we're so much more than that. As a queer person, I'm much more interested in seeing honest representation. We're human beings, and we have the same experiences that everyone else does.”
