an anxious object is the first full-length album from Japanese post-rock band mouse on the keys. Released in 2009, it was the first record to include band member Daisuke Niitome on keys.
With a broad pool of familiar tones from the minimalism of Philip Glass to the modern jazz of Portico Quartet and to their peers in the Japanese post-rock movement mono and toe, the band charm their way through the half-hour running-time leaving us all wanting more. This album was mixed and mastered by toe guitarist Mino Takaaki whose respective bands feel like kindred spirits.
