You Blew It! are synonymous with the emo revival. Forming in 2009 in Orlando, Florida and releasing their first EPs in 2010, the band quickly established themselves in the budding revival with scrappy sentimentality and “twinkly” guitar work that became a telltale hallmark of the revivalist toolkit. In 2014, the sophomore full-length Keep Doing What You’re Doing shot You Blew It! into the critical spotlight with its tighter production and songwriting that still retained the callsigns of past work. While the band leaned into the raw, impassioned vocal performances that defined their ascendance, the cleaner sound opened more space for their signature high energy and playful guitar work, resulting in bigger, more anthemic songs that still rang true to the band’s DIY roots.
