You Blew It! are synonymous with the emo revival. Forming in 2009 in Orlando, Florida and releasing their first EPs in 2010, the band quickly established themselves in the budding revival with scrappy sentimentality and “twinkly” guitar work that became a telltale hallmark of the revivalist toolkit. Debut album Grow Up, Dude released in 2012 to scene acclaim, instantly inspiring lookalike bands across North America with its emphasis on clean and clever guitar writing and heart-on-the-sleeve vocals written to be sung alongside devoted crowds packed into hot and humid basements. Grow Up, Dude would go on to become a critical work in the revival canon, an essential rubric against which much of the following 2010s emo would be measured.
